| How do I use secure pop3 with mutt? I tried using mutt pops://user assword@server.com but that fails. What should I use? imapsworks okay but but just keeps giving "Fetching message ..." and does nothing but just locks up mutt and I have to kill it and I did not get any reply to my previous post about this. So I need pop3, I guess. Can anyone help? Regards, Bill |

How is your attempt failing? What version of mutt are you running? > What should I use? imaps works okay but but just keeps giving "Fetching > message ..." and does nothing but just locks up mutt So it works okay and yet it doesn't? Clarify. Do you have access to check logs on the mail server? -- Sahil Tandon <sahil@despammed.com> |

You can easily define a command in mutt which launches fetchmail with the following in your .muttrc: macro index "G" "<shell-escape>fetchmail --all \n" my .fetchmailrc looks like this: poll pop3.web.de with proto POP3 user 'pop3user' ssl password 'pop3passwd' is 'chrissie' here fetchmail has no problem with ssl at all. Hope that helps, works great for me! |
