Seriously it's only a double click followed by a click and a CR, how much easier do you want it to be? (On my system even the double click is actually a single click of another button). -- Chris Green |

Mr. Anonymous, I think you haven't worked much with URLs so far, isn't? How do you handle links with about 150 chars, e.g. from ebay? Mutt wraps the links using a "+" at the end, a double klick marks the "+" but not the next (wrapped) line! Don't think that every workstation hast a 19 inch monitor and everybody likes very small chars (high resolution)so that 150chars or more fit into one line. BTW: you seem to be a mouse fan!? Why do you use mutt and not a graphical MUA like kmail? Ekkard |

Why do you use mutt and not a > graphical MUA like kmail? > Why am I "Mr. Anonymous"? :-) My name is in my sig and the Reply-to: address is valid and will get to me. I've "worked with URLs" as much as most people I suspect since I started using the 'net in its very early days (when there weren't URLs really). I run all my terminal windows at 80 columns regardless of screen resolution to conform with Usenet and E-mail guidelines and netiquette. It's GUI users who more often exceed sensible widths. If I have a nice 19" screen (as I have at home) I have two 80 column windows side by side, very useful at times. OK, long URLs may cause problems but it's not *that* often that I get a longer than one line one that I want to copy and I just concatenate the bits. Depending on the terminal emulator this may even work without any effort on my part, some terminals *know* the line is wrapped and copy the whole lot. My mutt doesn't wrap the long links with a "+" at the end, I suspect that may be your terminal rather than mutt. I simply select the whole lot and paste it into the browser address and it works. Thus there isn't really a problem with long URLs in mutt as long as your terminal wraps them correctly/sensibly. I use mutt because it's an excellent MUA that I can use remotely via an SSH connection. Thus I can read my mail from anywhere, home, work, wherever. I could use IMAP but I find that a local mutt via an SSH connection is smoother and easier. -- Chris Green |

You might try using w3m instead of urlview. It lets you see the links in the context of the message. See http://www.spocom.com/users/gjohnson/mutt/#w3m HTH, Gary |
