Request for save attachment umask 033 option

This is a discussion on Request for save attachment umask 033 option within the Mutt forums in Other Technologies category; hi, i am using mutt on my linux box and save my attachments into a folder witch is accessible from the samba server so the attachments could be used from different machines in the network. Every time I save an attachment I have to the change the rights. I really like mutt, but that drives me crazy. I found some discussions in the past about the arguments about the security reasons form hardcoding the umask 077. But even keeping this in mind I would like to see a option in the .muttrc to change the umask to 033 for saving ...
