how to manage different imap and pop accounts

This is a discussion on how to manage different imap and pop accounts within the Mutt forums in Other Technologies category; I use fetchmail to retrieve mails from pop3 server ands view them using mutt. And now I want to add a gmail account. However, I don't want to use the pop3 way. Instead I want to access gmail by imap. But I don't konw how to manage them, one pop3 account and one imap account. And I want to use fetchmail to get mails from pop3 servers. None of the pop3 servers support imap and I don't want to use pop3 in gmail account....
