Hello,

I try to use mutt in conjunction with S/MIME+smartcard for signing and
encryption of emails.

Openssl does support this using the pkcs11 engine from opensc. How about
gnupg, would I be able to use gnupg as an alternative to openssl? Does gnupg
support pkcs11 modules?

Unfortunately the S/MIME support in mutt does not seem to distinguish
between the keys used for signing and the keys used for encryption
(correct assumtion?).

This is however an essential thing in a cooperate environment, where
encrypted email needs to be recoverable in certain special cases.

Regards

Sven
