ERROR: The page is too large to be loaded. ?????

  1. Default ERROR: The page is too large to be loaded. ?????

    Greetings,

When trying to open/edit some pages from SiteView (NOF 5.0.2a), I get this
    error message:

"The page is too large to be loaded. You can reduce the size of the page by
using smaller font sizes (the font sizes can be set in Style view)."

I tried reducing the font sizes as instructed, but to no avail. I'm stuck
not being able to view my pages! Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks for any help...

    Peter

Make duplicates of your files in the backup folder...... Then move the one
with the newest date into the user sites folder and from windows explorer
click on it and see if you get the same error. If you do work back in date
until this goes away. Then save the site under the proper name and
continue. You may loose a little work. In version 5 the default for the
number of backups kept is only 2 so if you have not changed this you may
have already overwritten your backups..... Read my tutorial on backup and
export/import for more settings you should change

You could try deleting the SiteStyle that's in use (make sure you back
up first). Then open the NOD file, with luck you'll get a message saying
the SiteStyle can't be found and you can choose another SiteStyle
temporarily to get the file open.

    Problem solved!

The Parent page will not accept more than 16 Child pages. I originally had
20, and kept deleting a page until I reached 16 or less...and was finally
able to open/edit/view the Parent page. Anyone else experience this?

Either way, I appreciate the tips offered by fellow NOF'rs. Thanks all!

    Cheers!

  5. Default This is a Bug! Re: ERROR: The page is too large to be loaded. ?????

This clearly sounds like a bug. Or at the very least, a design flaw.
    NO please address...

There must have been errors on the last page you deleted.
Maybe some missing or bad links or some other assets or settings.
I would next time try to recover from a known good backup before deleting
    alot of work.
I have childs that contain upwards of 100 + pages as well as having 5 childs
    that contain 50 pages each.
To date I have not seen a limit as to how many pages you can have.

I think the liklihood is that any more than 16 pages is making one of
your navbars so long that it interferes with something else.

I'd try deleting the navbars and if that fixes things, then put the
    navbars back in.
