NOF Publishing

Hi

I am having problems with NOF 8 remote publishing...it stops and the active
progress bar stays there stoped in a file.

Any solution? It takes lots of time to transfer ...this is not progress....any
solution from WSPros ??? Any upgrade to correct some existing bugs...???

There is a problem with Passive Mode FTP in the initial Fusion 8 release.

This is a top WSP priority for correction in an upcoming update.

Release date for the update is not available, but it will be soon.

what is "soon" in WSP terms?
I have exactly same problem(s) now, and it´s september...

The problem with passive mode mentioned in this thread was fixed in update #1. Released
some time ago.

If you're still on build 5004, you need to go to www.netobjects.com and download and
install the Update.

I belive, it´s latest one.
But the problems described are stil here... frozen publishing, ages to
cancel upload...

Then you have a different issue.

If you've tried turning passive ftp on /off and you're sure it isn't a
firewall issue....

Try deleting your preview and local publish folders for the site.

Publishiong can appear to hang when a photo gallery or something else using
stacked pages (like an e-comm catalog) has been removed, but only
partiially.

Try verifying assets, removing unused assets and then re-optimizing the
site.

An unused and possibly corrupt master border can also cause publishing
issues. Remove any unused master borders.

The FTP in Fusion doesn't simply hang. There is always a contributing
factor.

A Fusion site is a database file. If the program is looking for something
that it thinks should be in the database, it can effectively hang if it
can't find what it's looking for to publish.

Hi Tomas

Before you do anything dramatic, Save a copy of the file. I have found
re-optimizing to be unreliable.

It would be nice if NOF didn't have FTP problems, but a simple solution is
to do a local publish and then copy the site to your server with a 3rd Party
FTP tool such as Cute or WiseFTP. Since FTP programs are designed only for
FTP jobs, they do tend to be good at it :-)
