| I'd like to know from those of you who have built a few web sites as to how you structure your filing/folder system on your computer for each client? Do you have a seperate folder for all their web related material? e.g. Company 123 banners logos sounds pictures etc. Or do you have a central resource pool for all clients? e.g. Website resources for all clients banners/company123/company124/company125 logos /company123/company124/company125 sounds/company123/company124/company125 pictures/company123/company124/company125 etc... I'm having trouble with duplication, versions etc. could someone please suggest an approach that has worked well for them. |

| I do as you indicated in your first option. Whenever I start a new job they get a folder in my "websites" folder. I have a hotkey on my keyboard that opens that "websites" folder so I have instant access to all the client folders. Then within each client I have for eg - flash, pics, photoshoot, PSD's, old site, invoices, logos etc When a job gets old and isnt access very often, I move the folder to an "older sites" folder withing the main "websites" folder, keeps the clutter down. -- Regards Shannell Sugrue www.artistrywebdesign.com.au 82849665 "James" <james@livingcomfort.com.au> wrote in message news:eh1efu$3t84@flsun90netnews01.netobjects.com.. . > I'd like to know from those of you who have built a few web sites as to > how you structure your filing/folder system on your computer for each > client? > > Do you have a seperate folder for all their web related material? > > e.g. Company 123 > banners > logos > sounds > pictures > etc. > > Or do you have a central resource pool for all clients? > > e.g. Website resources for all clients > banners/company123/company124/company125 > logos /company123/company124/company125 > sounds/company123/company124/company125 > pictures/company123/company124/company125 > etc... > > I'm having trouble with duplication, versions etc. could someone please > suggest an approach that has worked well for them. > > |
