I don't know that I've seen any difference in speed with 9. And really can't
complain about speed. My main site has a little over 300 pages, many of them
very long (10 pages printed). I do not use any ecommerce, which by reading
here can slow things down.

If you have had any pasting from MS Word, you need to go through each page and
strip out all the formating code on each page and table. It's a pain but it
really helps.

Also, try re-optimizing if you haven't.

I'm sure the experts will chime in with more suggestions.

Thank you Richard
My site is single pages (print format)and there are no Word pastings, I have
re-optimized one of the split sites but unfortunately to no avail

I noticed from the get go that (for me any way) 9 was very slow to load,
even when it was first installed and no sites have been built yet! Now with
one site over 90 pages is loads slow and crashes quite a bit for some
reason. I learned my lesson about pasting from Word, so that can't be the
problem.
