Why does FTP support suck in this program

This is a discussion on Why does FTP support suck in this program within the Net Objects Fusion forums in Application Servers & Tools category; You would think that after 10 versions and many minor versions, some effort would be made to improve the FTP support in the product. I am soo tired of having the "end process" this program because the FTP transfer gets hung for whatever reason. I never have these issues with Dreamweaver or Frontpage or Visual Web Developer....

I use the built-in FTP almost exclusively and have since Fusion 3.

The only time I've encountered a problem was when passive mode was on or off
incorrectly for the server being contacted.

It's Ver. 4 for me. I've used it thousands of times & I've maybe had half a
dozen lockups. I've had as many with WS_FTP & CuteFTP.

Don't know about the details of what your server is looking for, but I think
you'll find that if you get the settings right, it'll work fine.

I think it is connection related. from here even Filezilla gives up eventually sometimes.

It works about 80% of the time. But when it doesn't its a total lock-up and
I have to kill the app via task manager.
