Adobe Error

This is a discussion on Adobe Error within the Net Objects Fusion forums in Application Servers & Tools category; Hi All - I just updated a site, and now FireFox/Adobe gives an error. The page uses the NOF Acrobat control. The page is: http://www.vermont-yourhome.com/html/newsletter.html , although you may need to come in through http://www.vermont-yourhome.com & click on the Newsletter link on the lower left to get an error. The error is "Operation not allowed" & it only seems to do it in Firefox (IE 6 & 7 are OK). Anyone run into this and/or have ideas as to what I might do? Default Adobe Error

Hi All -

I just updated a site, and now FireFox/Adobe gives an error. The page uses
the NOF Acrobat control.

The page is: http://www.vermont-yourhome.com/html/newsletter.html, although
you may need to come in through http://www.vermont-yourhome.com & click on
the Newsletter link on the lower left to get an error.

The error is "Operation not allowed" & it only seems to do it in Firefox (IE
6 & 7 are OK).

Anyone run into this and/or have ideas as to what I might do?

TIA

Acrobat plugin? Is this for a PDF file? I usually just link directly
to the file. Does that work?

Yes - this is for a pdf file. Yes, I could use a link. However, the client
liked this layout & it's been working fine for a year. Just today when I
made some changes to the site, I discovered the problem.

So - I guess my question really is "What happened?". I couldn't find any
component that gets uploaded to handle this - so I didn't know what to look
for. In the html, all I see is:

<embed id="PlugIn1" src="../assets/applets/Newsletter.pdf" border="0"
height="1066" width="623" alt="">

"PlugIn1" doesn't tell me a lot...

Thanks!

It works for me in IE7 and Firefox in exactly the same way.

Sounds like you may have an issue with the Adobe plugin in your Firefox.

I have had issues before with Adobe. Try uninstalling and reinstalling
Adobe.

I am using latest Firefox 2.0.0.3 and Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.

Thanks for checking it out.

Very strange. It had been working fine for a long time, I made changes & it
started giving this error on 3 different computers! Yesterday afternoon I
wiped the site clean & re-uploaded everything. Now it seems OK for 2 of
'em - but one still gives the error. I cleared the cache & still no joy.

Since it works for you (& the other 2 machines now), I guess I'll just give
it a day or so & see if that computer clears up.

Computers are here to annoy us, after all....<g>

Best,
