| http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ This site will (after you complete a simple form) create the .xml file for you and you simply upload it to the root directory of your website. You then need to add the sitemap URL through your Google Webmaster Account. Anything else you need to know about is on that page and it is very straight forward. | Hi I have found the home page and all the other pages in the file preview.I take it, this is where it is suppose to be? I have very limited knowledge or web in general but have learnt a lot.. I know with dreamweaver u do create a root folder and then put your assets in etc, but from the way I hve been using net objects I just started the site and just saved.. so should I have also created a root folder.. or is the review folder ok to use for site map.. Kind regards Debra "Ian" <ianh@1ahost.co.uk> wrote in message news:g3qtfo$i742@flsun90netnews01.netobjects.com.. . > It's where your home page (i.e. index.html page) normally lives. > > -- > Ian > 1AHost > > Free Web Hosting - PHP & MySQL Hosting > Resellers and Affiliates Schemes > www.1ahost.co.uk > > > "debra" <flowergardenuk@hotmail.co.uk> wrote in message > news:g3qoh3$gh62@flsun90netnews01.netobjects.com.. . >> Hi James >> >> Thanks for replying. | Literally place it in whichever folder has your index.html file. That is your root directory. | As JJ says, the root directory is where your index.html page resides. On a Linux server this could be a folder called public_docs or www_pages or html_docs or something similar. If unsure, ask your host what your root directory is. Also, use a 3rd party ftp program like Cute ftp or Ws_ftp pro to upload to server. --Nancy O. | Hi JJ thanks for more info... Hi Nancy thanks for more info, I just upload straight from net objects. I will contact my hosting serivce which is one and one.. I kinda got lost as I now realise you are talking of putting on my server, I thought it meant put it on my local server (computer) then upload.. so much to learn lol.. and its harder at the moment as I am living in Phuket at mo, only have laptop and all my books are in UK, and a blue tooth server for internet so everything is so slow, as normally I would search interner for more learning..
