S.O.S. I would appreciate any help that I can get with this problem. It is
particualrly frustrating as I have had to resolve so many others to get to
this point and now this is now holding me up big-time.
I have put a very simple one line form in my site so that visitors can
submit an email address. I've use the built in Form Handler to generate the
necessary cgi code behind the "submit" button. This should then submit the
info to be stored on a UNIX server. I've filled in all the Form Handler
properties correctly as far as I can tell, but when I go to publish, I get
the error: "Could not create the directory 'public_html/cgi-bin/ /' on the
server" I don't understand this as I have already supplied it with that
same path to the existing cgi bin directory on the server and the help notes
in NOF 8 simply say that this is where the form handler scripts will be
"copied". So why is it trying to create that directory, when it is only
supposed to storing the code there?
I've tried setting the permissions on public html to 777 and various other
things, but I think the time has come when I need some fresh minds on this.
Grateful for any assistance.
