| I have written a site in NOF9 using a template with the menu on the left of the page. Many of the pages have a link to external HTML, the HTML files being prepared from a database. Each external HTML file is a series of pictures and text contained in tables - an outer table with a border of 3 and several inner tables with a border of 1, some being 1x1, some 1x2 and some 1x3. I have run the HTML I am producing through HTML tidy and it seems happy with it. However, for each of the tables in my HTML the NOF menu moves down 1 line. So if there are 4 tables in my HTML the menu moves down 4 lines. If there are a hundred the menu moves 100 lines down the page. I am running out of ideas here, I suspect I haven't closed off an element of my own HTML files but I can't spot it. Has anybody seen this behaviour before, if so can you give me any hints as to where to look please? In the meantime I am off to HTML tidy land again... -- Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK All things being equal, fat people use more soap |

However, it seems to have fixed itself. Having spent the last 24 hours going over the HTML I produce with HTML tidy and the W3C validator I think I have got as far as I can with that, but still had layout problems. In desperation I moved the menu to the top of the screen, it looked awful but the problem had gone. So I moved it back down and it is fine now. I wonder if NOF got its internal knickers in a twist and moving the menu straightened it out? -- Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK Tell me what you need, and I'll tell you how to get along without it. |

| Was it a flash menu Jeff? -- Ian 1AHost Free Web Hosting - PHP & MySQL Hosting Resellers and Affiliates Schemes www.1ahost.co.uk "Jeff Gaines" <jgaines_newsid@yahoo.co.uk> wrote in message news:xn0fvssm11tefl1000@news.netobjects.com... > On 30/09/2008 in message <gbt559$3um2@flsun90netnews01.netobjects.com> > Garret Mott wrote: > >>Hi Jeff - >> >>Have a URL we could look at? >> >>Garret > > Not really, it's still undergoing private testing (it's a new venture). > > However, it seems to have fixed itself. I am trying to avoid using things that require Flash or Java, although I doubt I will succeed 100%. -- Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK If it's not broken, mess around with it until it is |

| OK. I've seen this happen with vertical flash menus. 2 pages drops the menu 2 "lines" lower than it's placement in design view, 3 pages drops the menu 3 "lines" etc! Your circumstances are curious. It would be good if you could do a temporary upload so we can see the code. -- Ian 1AHost Free Web Hosting - PHP & MySQL Hosting Resellers and Affiliates Schemes www.1ahost.co.uk "Jeff Gaines" <jgaines_newsid@yahoo.co.uk> wrote in message news:xn0fvwk872mzrh0000@news.netobjects.com... > On 01/10/2008 in message <gbud18$9706@flsun90netnews01.netobjects.com> Ian > wrote: > >>Was it a flash menu Jeff? > > Hi Ian. > No it was the standard vertical menu that NOF has in many of its > templates.
