I try to make somesort of liquid layout of a three-column design. Content
is placed into middle column. Left and right column are different color
and must be stretched to left and right

I can't get this done...
When I use alt-web 'Designing Liquid Layouts in Net Objects Fusion', the
right side doesn't entirely stretch to the right edge of the browser
window. On the right side is some sort of gutter.

I know that NOF9 generates the Text (Size Layout to Text and Contents
wrap to browser width) as: <table width="99%"... So this is why, but can
it be done without checking and changing all generated html files to
width="100%"?

Any ideas on how to get this done are most appreciated!

Greetings,
jgroep

JGroep,
I don't like working with liquid layouts in NOF. They are very fragile and
your results will always be unpredictable because NOF uses unseen tables
within nested tables for it's layout framework. Even the most seasoned NOF
user will find liquid layouts difficult to control. If I haven't convinced
you not to use NOF for liquid layouts yet, look at your table properties
pane and make sure cell padding, cell spacing, cell borders are all Zero.
And deselect the box that reads, "generate non-breaking spaces."
Finally, make your body background color the same as your right side column
to close up the appearance of white space.

Good luck with your project,
--Nancy O.

Is this any different with NOF11?

NOF 11 does liquid pages exactly the same.

I've built quite a few sites using this method, but I must agree with
Nancy - it's not the easiest way of building then maintaining a website.
Simple pages work quite well, but even editing a perfectly working page can
have NOF regenerate the tables in such a way that the page goes totally out
of control, also wysiwyg doesn't always apply either!

I have a couple of simple page templates you are welcome to try if you wish?

Both Nancy and Ken, thanks for your answers.

It seems that a liquid (3 column) layout is a no no for my design. When I
change background color, the color of the gutter on the right side of the
browserwindow changes. But the gutter is still there.

I think of placing the design into the center of the screen and using a
nice repeating background.

Thanks again,
jgroep
