| Is there a simple way of getting a website produced in NOF9 to look the same in IE and Firefox? My site looks exactly as I want it in Firefox, but in IE the fonts appear to be bigger and it's nowhere near as good looking. -- Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK 640k ought to be enough for anyone. | Edit your style.css in notepad or some other text editor. Place the following hacks into the top of your stylesheet. /**zero out margins & padding in non-IE browsers, set default font-size, add vertical scrollbar on shortpages.**/ html, body {margin:0; padding:0; font-size:100%; height:100%; margin-bottom:1px;} *html {font-size:80%;}/**smaller fonts for pre-IE8 browsers**/ --Nancy O. | I use px for all my fonts and you won't see any difference between IE and FF -- Anton Strauss www.videoproductions.com.au "Jeff Gaines" <jgaines_newsid@yahoo.co.uk> wrote in message news:xn0fw70l822ic9d000@news.netobjects.com... > > Is there a simple way of getting a website produced in NOF9 to look the > same in IE and Firefox? > > My site looks exactly as I want it in Firefox, but in IE the fonts appear > to be bigger and it's nowhere near as good looking. > > > -- > Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK > 640k ought to be enough for anyone. > (Bill Gates, 1981) |

| px can't be set to +/- it needs to be set with a number such as 10, 12, 14, 16 etc or anything in between -- Anton Strauss www.videoproductions.com.au "Jeff Gaines" <jgaines_newsid@yahoo.co.uk> wrote in message news:xn0fw84lx33otdv002@news.netobjects.com... > On 09/10/2008 in message <gck7fd$p71@flsun90netnews01.netobjects.com> > Anton Strauss wrote: > > >I use px for all my fonts and you won't see any difference between IE and > >FF > > I use px set to +/- 0 and IE always displays bigger :-( > > I guess it's part of IE's failure to follow standards, or perhaps in its > default state it takes a 'Toys'R'Us' approach. > > -- > Jeff Gaines Damerham Hampshire UK > It may be that your sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others. |
