Default Experience with UML modeling using Topcase

I am soliciting hands-on experience with using the Topcase UML drawing
tool. In particular I am interested in the following issues...

How useful is Topcase for simple UML modeling? I am particularly
interested in the sort of modeling one might encounter in university
course work.

Is Topcase suitable for simple modeling situations where there is
minimal tool training? An example might be someone new to UML modeling
who wants to experiment with it to see what its like.

How useful is Topcase for systems engineering issues? I am interested in
application partitioning at the subsystem level, defining communication
protocols between subsystems, and support for SysML.
