Default Microsoft Oracle drivers contention

Hi!

I think I am having oracle driver contention issue with
two of my applications using different ODBC drivers but
don't know how to resolve it. I am new to Oracle
ODBC/drivers so any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there any known contention between Microsoft ODBC for
Oracle and Oracle in Orahome90 driver?

If so, what files I need in place to resolve this issue?
Please read details for more information.

The details:
I have two applications (A, B) installed in my XP
workstation.
Application A uses Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver and
application B uses Oracle in Orahome90 driver.

Once application B is installed, application A is getting
the 'Connection to the Database Failed' error.

My preliminary investigation showed that if I changed the
ODBC driver of application A to same as application B
(Oracle in Orahome90 driver), both applications can work.

However, this fix is not allowed, I will have to make the
fix in application B. But there is no way for me to test
if I can use the driver of app A for app B because as
soon as B is installed, A doesn't work anymore.

My hunch is that a file may have been replaced by
application B that resulted to app A not being able to
connect to database after B is installed. But I don't
know what that file is. Please advise.

Thanks so much!
