Default Record locking in Access and SQL Server

Hello,

I'm using VB6 as a front end and Access/SQL server as the backend database

I wish to know what is the best technique to use when locking and updating
records.

Do you have to trap an error when two or more users try to update the same
record?

Regards,

Mario Chertub
