IPv6 support for ODBC

This is a discussion on IPv6 support for ODBC within the ODBC forums in Framework and Interface Programming category; Hi, KIndly let me know whether ODBC API has support for IPv6 type addresses. To explain my problem a bit further,I am developing an application which uses ODBC API,if I supply IPv6 types addresses to ODBC API will it be able to handle such addresses. Default IPv6 support for ODBC

Hi,
KIndly let me know whether ODBC API has support for IPv6 type
addresses. To explain my problem a bit further,I am developing an application
which uses ODBC API,if I supply IPv6 types addresses to ODBC API will it be
able to handle such addresses.

Maybe, maybe not. (?ODBC API?)
One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

I think you might be referring to the ability of a Provider or Driver to
understand an IPv6 type address. That will depend on the Vendor of the
Provider/Driver and the Database, and to some extent the O/S.

For example: I think "ODBC for OLE DB" Providers for SQLServer supported
IPv6 for earlier MDAC versions, then something went squirrelly for XP, but
is now supported with the newer Native SQL Provider that comes with the
Vista DAC.

IIRC directData providers have always had this feature for all of their
drivers.

You'll have to be more specific, and then test it within YOUR Problem Domain
and with YOUR toys.
