Mercury POP3 Incoming Mail Failure

This is a discussion on Mercury POP3 Incoming Mail Failure within the Pegasus forums in Other Technologies category; I've been using Mercury/32 (Win XP Pro) for a couple of months without problems, but noticed this morning that I hadn't received any incoming mail since yesterday afternoon. Mercury connects successfully and lists the correct number of messages, but fails to download. The error given is: TCP/IP communication error. - Network error; delivering anyway. Log details are shown below. I thought about timeouts, but the error throws up almost immediately -- the whole polling sequence takes only five or ten seconds. I'm stumped since I haven't made any changes since everything worked OK yesterday. I'd be grateful for any help. ...

I'm seeing the same thing very often - I am trying out Mercury and this just
about makes me say 'no thanks". After having polled mail once or twice, all
my POP3 accounts give the "Network error; delivering anyway" error.

Further, if I exit Mercury, my regular mail - Thunderbird - cannot get hold
of any mail either.

Very reproducible - I have yet to run Mercury for more than an hour without
getting this error.

Ideas?
