| I am using Version 3.12(c) and send a copy to self as a default. Pegasus, however, does not copy to self when I forward a message and I would like to have a record of my forwarded messages. Is that possible? |

BTW, is copyself set as default or you use one of those interactive copyself options? -- Kind regards, Euler German Please, reply preferably to the list. It seems that the "copy-to-self" action is only performed by the message editor, so if you forward a message without editing it, no copy is made. If you also ways want a local copy, then you must check the "edit or change before forwarding" radio button in the window that comes up to receive the forwarding address. -- Jay (remove dashes for legal email address) |

No copy is made because you did nothing to the original message. As happens with a snail mail delivered to you in error (e.g. belonging to other). Should you keep a copy? No (though MS thinks you should). You just put the right address and return it to postman. > If you also ways want a local copy, then you must check the "edit or > change before forwarding" radio button in the window that comes up to > receive the forwarding address. > This one is copied because you did something. You added a note, a document, you name it. So, a copy should be kept. One of the Pegasus Mail most noticeable quality is the logical way it treats messages. ![]() -- Kind regards, Euler German Please, reply preferably to the list. | It was 5 Aug 2008, when DavidB commented: > I am using Version 3.12(c) and send a copy to self as a default. > Pegasus, however, does not copy to self when I forward a message and I > would like to have a record of my forwarded messages. Is that possible? I use Peg 4.x along with Mercury, and haven't used the regular "copyself" functionality in years. That said, I have had a local copyself email address set in Mercury as an alias, and in Pegasus as a default BCC address. Any email I send from Pegasus is BCC'd to the copy-self address, then sent through Mercury, which catches emails to that address and forwards it back to my regular account. Then Pegasus filters emails to that alias into the Copyself folder. Or I used to do that, don't think I currently have that set up. The nice thing with Peg and Merc, you could also have an archival address under Mercury where all outbound mail (and inbound?) is also copied to that address. Can eat up HD space in a hurry, though, especially archiving inbound, too. -- Grizzly's Growls Podcast: <http://grizzly.libsyn.com> Stories from the Hiber-Nation: <http://grizzly.libsyn.com/index.php?post_category=story> Blog: <http://grizzlysgrowls.blogspot.com> |
