Word wrapping on the fly?

  1. Default Word wrapping on the fly?

Lately I'm noticing more and more of a rather annoying word wrapping
feature. It's like the computers I use are too fast (or too slow or too
    many CPU's or... .

A bit hard to explain but basically what happens is that I write a
paragraph and later add something in the middle of that paragraph.
Quite often, especially when typing at top speed, when a word wrap
occurs on the fly the text ends up on the wrong line (or the word wrap
    messes up a few characters).

Easiest to explain with an example I guess. The X is where I'm typing
when thing go wrong (adding the text "like this"):

What I'm saying is, if I write something X
.. This is just the next sentence and there's
    nothing particular about it.

    => I GET THIS (cursor at X)

What I'm saying is, if I write something . T
like thisXhis is just the next sentence and there's
    nothing particular about it.

=> WANTED THIS (cursor at right place)

What I'm saying is, if I write something like
thisX. This is just the next sentence and there's
    nothing particular about it.

(ignore language, too many paragraphs to fix

So the word wrap does the actual word wrap a bit late. And not
necessarily at the correct spot either (i.e. before/after the next
word). As I programmer I can think of some reasons for this happening.
None good though. But it's extremely annoying as fixing requires one to
actually stop and think to be able to reassemble the "puzzle". And that
breaks the thought flow as well.

This happens on several different computers and in some instances I'm
only using one CPU. Like when this happens at work I'm in a virtual
machine Vmware Windows. But at home it happens under the main operating
system so it should not be Vmware messing things up.

I write mostly in Pmail so this is where I notice it. I think it
happens in notepad as well but that I've always attributed to the
ancient notepad saving file bug. Not sure about other software.

Anyone else having this or should I just start typing slower?

I get exactly this in PMail quite frequently. You describe it well.
I've never been able to pin down just what triggers it, but I think -
as you say - it's always(?) when you've gone back to correct or insert
something. Has been happening since way before PMail 4.50b, but I
can't say if it came in with a particular version. And I don't think
it can be to do with superfast machines, because both of my desktops
(Dell Pentium 4 PCs, Win XP Pro SP3) are around 4 years old and
weren't exactly state of the art when new.

    best
