facial recognition - Perl

This is a discussion on facial recognition - Perl ; I'd like to tackle facial recognition with Perl. I have no idea if it will be worthwhile or even possible. I have experience processing image data with GD and ImageMagick, but nothing in those libraries seems useful for this task ...

facial recognition

    I'd like to tackle facial recognition with Perl. I have no idea if it will
    be worthwhile or even possible. I have experience processing image data
    with GD and ImageMagick, but nothing in those libraries seems useful for
    this task (except maybe reading the values for each pixel).

    Does anyone know of other libraries that would aid in doing facial
    recognition?

    PDL - http://pdl.perl.org
    AI::* - search.cpan.org
    in particular AI::Prolog just hit CPAN
