| Hi all, I have *two* shell accounts each of which complete of an email account: at the first location I have a properly set up pine which I have been using remotely for years, and with great satisfaction. I would say that its configuration perfectly suits my needs. At the second location pine is properly set up too, in terms of folders and such things, but not having really used it thus far, *not* wrt most other aspects of the UI. Now, for some reason I "have" to start using the second account more and more, and obviously I would like it to behave like the first one just as much as possible: but given the inherent differences I just can't copy the latter's .pinerc over the one of the former. I have to *merge* them. I wonder if there's any *quick* method/recommendation to perform the task I'm after, short of parallel inspecting of the two .pinerc's... Not having seen any answer here, I venture to hope maybe you've gotten one under the Net; if so, please post the substance of it here. Yours is a problem I predict most of us will have before much longer ... -- Beartooth Implacable, PhD, Neo-Redneck Linux Convert What do they know of country, who only country know? |

Those are generally right at the top of the config file/menu. I don't see how it is particularly complicated to just take note of those, and then use the "good" config file for the rest. In other words, make a copy of the one that's set up with all the customization, change the few needed lines, and then put it in place. Michael |
