This is a discussion on using ldap with username/password within the Pine forums in Other Technologies category; Hi, Fastmail started to allow LDAP queries into your own Fastmail addressbook, see http://blog.fastmail.fm/ Now I'm wondering how I should translate their instructions to the Alpine LDAP configuration screen: * Server name: ldap.messagingengine.com * Port: 389 (or 636 for SSL) * Login: Required (but must be “plain”, not “SPA”) * Username: cn=[your-username]@[your-domain],dc=User * Search base: dc=AddressBook To be specific, can I specify "Login" and "Username", and if yes, where? Default using ldap with username/password

Hi,

Fastmail started to allow LDAP queries into your own Fastmail addressbook,
see http://blog.fastmail.fm/
Now I'm wondering how I should translate their instructions to the Alpine
LDAP configuration screen:

* Server name: ldap.messagingengine.com
* Port: 389 (or 636 for SSL)
* Login: Required (but must be “plain”, not “SPA”)
* Username: cn=[your-username]@[your-domain],dc=User
* Search base: dc=AddressBook

To be specific, can I specify "Login" and "Username", and if yes, where?

Erik
