The humor escapes me, but the point I was trying to make is that a
language whose proponents claim to be the salvation of us all is not
only not assessed in the report, but doesn't even get honorable
mention. The author had the opportunity to either pan or extol Ada's
virtues but he chose to remain silent. Very curious.

Perhaps, perhaps not. I'm not being a troll here - I just don't know.
Is Ada used outside of the DoD community? If not, then I'm gong to
speculate that Gartner analysts may simply not encounter questions
about Ada in their client contacts, any more than they probably don't
get questions about CP/M or TR-DOS.

It's not used as much within DoD as its proponents would have you
believe. Outside of DoD I believe FAA is using it for some of their
new air traffic control systems. Boeing uses it in their newest
jetliners. Others who follow Ada more closely than I can certainly add
to this list.

OK, perhaps I phrased my question too narrowly. Is Ada used very
much, or even at all, outside the US Government? If not, then my
point below is still valid.

As well, last week Gartner has issued a statement on PCs.
i.e., there are 1 billion of them.

His competitor (IDC) announced that this figure was reached
last year.

Maybe IDC was using the American billion, and Gartner was using the
British/European billion?
