Default keyword highlight file for Gedit?

    Hi all,

Has anyone here by chance created a Rexx keyword highlighting file for
Gedit, the Gnome editor? (In its standard installation, Gedit supports
highlighting for many languages, but not Rexx.)

    Rather not reinvent the wheel...

Hmm, not that I know of, so if you come up with one, would you please share that?

Maybe the ooRexx syntax-highlighting for vim could be of help in your endeavor? If so, here is a
version that does syntax highlighting for vim (cf. <http://www.vim.org> for versions for many
    operating systems): <http://wi.wu-wien.ac.at/rgf/rexx/misc/rexx.vim>.

    Ok, here you are:

    http://lim.nl/rexx.lang

You need to copy it to this directory:

    /usr/share/gtksourceview-1.0/language-specs

    This location may also work:

    ~/.gtksourceview-1.0/language-specs

This applies to Ubuntu and Fedora; for other Linux/unix distros, the
    location may be different.

Colin, thank you very much (also for the directions)!

Whenever you have plans for syntax highlighting for ooRexx, please let me know and I would try to
write up a small set of rules for that language.
