| I assume that ooRexx (from The Rexx Language Association): http://www.oorexx.org/ is not the same as Object Rexx (from IBM): http://www-01.ibm.com/software/awdto...ows/index.html Right? Is Object Rexx available as a separate product from IBM? The website above is cryptic about it's availability and says there are no trial versions for download. |

They were roughly the same when IBM gave away the source. ooRexx didn't include IBM's "Workbench" nor the RxFTP() package. This was ~8 years ago (wild guess, feels like that to me). Then Object REXX development stopped, and ooREXX took off, so they have now diverged. If you are fluent in Object Rexx then ooRexx can do it all, any differences being quite minor (I don't recall any). I once tried to get permission to ship the last release of Object Rexx to someone who needed it, on the basis that it was no longer an IBM product, so there was no reason not to. But I didn't manage to find anyone in a position to grant such authority (probably because there in no longer anyone within IBM whose responsibility is Object Rexx). -- Steve Swift http://www.swiftys.org.uk/swifty.html http://www.ringers.org.uk |
