Secondary MX

  1. Default Secondary MX

    Hi,

I've been googling for an answer but cant find anything thats straight
forward for someone new to sendmail.

I'm looking to setup a secondary mx for my domains which in the event of my
    primary mx going down stores
the email until the primary comes back online and then pushes the mail back
    onto the primary.

Can anyone advise as to a easy to follow howto for setting this up ?

    I'm running Fedora and Sendmail.

    Thank you,

    Wayne.

Can you make list of valid email addresses available at secondary?
[ as text file or via LDAP]

*Old* (pre "high spam" era) recipe for creating secondary was to put the
    following entry in access file:

    to:example.com RELAY

Fresher recipes describe also how to make secondary MX reject messages
    *only* to valid email addresses.

Pst, I think you mean "... ACCEPT messages *only to valid email
    addresses.", not "... reject ...".
