Files sizes and characters Accepted - Sharepoint

*Default* file size limit is 50MB. It can be changed.

Illegal characters in file names are listed in the second part of

(it's for WSS 2.0 but remains valid).

By the way.

Always say which SP product and version you are using.

The default I quoted in the earlier message was for WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007.

The default for WSS 2.0 and SPS 2003 is 20MB.

The maximum file size for the v3 products can be much higher than for the v2
products (where you run out of steam around 120MB or so).

But please always say which product/version you are asking about (in every
message).
