Default MOSS Search - crawling specific subsites as HTTP

I have a sub-site within the main parent site that links to documents
on the file server. I am trying to setup the crawler so that it crawls
this particular subsite as a HTTP site and the remaining sites as
Sharepoint sites.

Parent Site:
http://site (normal sharepoint crawl)

Children Sites:
http://site/siteA (HTTP crawl)
http://site/siteB (normal sharepoint crawl)
http://site/siteC (normal sharepoint crawl)

I have the crawl rules setup as follows:
1. Any url that matches http://site/siteA should be crawled as HTTP
2. Any url that matches http://site should be crawled as a Sharepoint
URL.

This does not seem to work. All urls are crawled as Sharepoint URLs.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?
