Hello,
we have the following scenario. Two locations A and B. Location A is hosting
the MOSS 2007 and has a local file server (1.5TB data). Location B has just
the file server (0.6TB data) and is connected to Location B via 2 T1
(1.5Mbps) lines. Because of a paper I found
(http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Link...59&clcid=0x409) and the figures in
it about the crawling speed, we are looking for a solution to increase the
speed to crawl the content of Location B from Location A and and exculpate
the T1 lines.
After some research we created the following idea, but we are not sure if it
works:

We build a small second MOSS 2007 system in Location B, so we can search the
content of the file server locally. Then we export the crawled data out of
the database and import it into the database in Location A. Maybe we have to
change some paths, but because Location A and B is part of the same intranet,
it should be possible to work with this paths.

Do you have any information about this process or to crawl big file shares
via a T1 line?

Thank you for your information,

Christoph
