default.aspx not loading by default - Sharepoint
This is a discussion on default.aspx not loading by default - Sharepoint ; If I go to http://server/ I get "page not found" instead of default.aspx
being loaded automatically.
I've added "default.aspx" to the list of default content pages for the site

Re: default.aspx not loading by default
Does http://servername/default.aspx work ?
If so then have a look at Alternative Access Methods (AAM)
If not then your DNS isn't recognizing servername. If you are getting
this problem when access the site while *on* servername then it is
almost certainly a AAM question.

Re: default.aspx not loading by default
Thanks Mike. I had seen that page but was overwhelmed with content that
didn't apply (such as the use of ISA Server). But at the bottom the "mistake
1" described what was happening.
All I needed to do was define the domain I was using in the "Alternate
Access Mappings". I originally had it set up only for the FQDN.

Re: default.aspx not loading by default
Yes, there's far too much about ISA Server in the three part series that
this paper came from. I used to say read blog 2 first !
