Custom Membership Provider and Custom Role Provider (MOSS 2007 / W
Hi, hopefully someone can help me with this. I have been investigating it for
a few day with no progress.
I would like to implement a custom role provider for MOSS 2007 (WSS 3.0)
using Windows authentication. There doesn't seem to be a configuration like
this available. I can set the authentication provider to 'Forms' and specify
a custom membership and role provider, but that takes away the windows
integrated authentication and gives forms based authentication (FSB). Another
item I noticed is that you can't have the user/group lookup for unless you
explictly configure the membership provide. So basically it seems like I need
to have a multi-mode authentication / authorization for MOSS 2007. Could this
be a limitation of MOSS or ASP.NET? Anyone have a solution?
Thanks,
Eric
