Large MOSS trace log file : Sharepoint
This is a discussion on Large MOSS trace log file within the Sharepoint forums in Microsoft Tools category; I found that in my MOSS test installation, the OWSTIMER.EXE process is writing a large number of trace records to the diagnostic log file. It is writing hundreds of the following Medium level messages to the log: Preserving template record with size 6885, use count 2, key ct-1033-0x012002 It is generated a log file of about 5MB in size every 30 minutes. Do you know why I am getting these messages? Please advise on how to resolve this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. David...

| I landed up throttling back the diagnostic logs to only log errors and unexpected issues. | Not really. The number of trace records cut back quite a bit after I rebooted both database and web servers. I also moved the trace files to the D: drive and set a limit on number of trace files to keep them from filling up the disk space. "Brian Farnhill" wrote: > Did you ever figure this one out?
