Coexist MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0 on the same server?
We upgraded from Portal server 2003 to Moss 2007. Can we install WSS3.0 on
the same server? - can they coexist
We want some existing sites to be moved to WSS3.0 (ok for urls to change) so
that we can create cheaper licenced area for an extranet [our licensing
partner says that normal external connector license will permit this and
that we don't need to get Moss 2007 for internet sites- correct?] . Some
sites and my sites etc to to be left as they are in Moss 2007.
Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Coexist MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0 on the same server?
No. You can't have both *products* installed on the same server. MOSS as
you know includes WSS 3.0 functionality.
You are correct that if you have a completely separate WSS 3.0 "farm"
(one or more) that you then only need the *server-based* Internet
connection license which is about 2K and is thus much cheaper than the
very high price of the MOSS Internet Connection license.

Re: Coexist MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0 on the same server?
Try Save site as Template.
If the site is using MOSS functionality in some way, it won't work of
course.
So you might need to go down to saving the individual Lists/Libraries as
Templates instead.
(Not tested but should work)
You should also look at stsadm but my fear is that that may be more
dependent on bein able only to move MOSS to *MOSS*.
