Deleting MOSS Trace Log Files : Sharepoint

This is a discussion on Deleting MOSS Trace Log Files within the Sharepoint forums in Microsoft Tools category; Hi, I have noticed that the trace files generated by MOSS take up a lot of disk space. I know that it is possible to configure how these are generated through the Diagnostic Logging settings in SharePoint Central Admin but would altering the settings result in the already existing files to be removed? Is it a case of just deleting *.log files to immediately free up some space on the disk? Is this safe? Regards, AA...

Default Deleting MOSS Trace Log Files

Hi,

I have noticed that the trace files generated by MOSS take up a lot of disk
space. I know that it is possible to configure how these are generated
through the Diagnostic Logging settings in SharePoint Central Admin but would
altering the settings result in the already existing files to be removed?

Is it a case of just deleting *.log files to immediately free up some space
on the disk? Is this safe?

Regards,
AA
