Using an existing SQL Server 2005 instance for WSS 3.0 - Sharepoint

This is a discussion on Using an existing SQL Server 2005 instance for WSS 3.0 - Sharepoint ; I have SQL Server 2005 installed on my server. Can I specify that as the instance to use while installing WSS 3.0, or does it need a separate instance of SQL Server 2005? Thanks....

    Yes. Choose Advanced Install and *don't* choose single-server installation.
