Not able to access SharePoint portal after applying SSL
Hi All,
I am not able to connect to SharePoint using https://sharepoint.abc.com (our
intranet portal, 'abc' is dummy name) and receive a "bad request" error.
However, if I add default.aspx to the path:
https://sharepoint.abc.com/default.aspx I am able to successfully connect.
I'm not so concerned about this except for we are having the same issue with
a XYZ folder under Site S1.
If I go to Site S1 and click on any of the XYZ folders I receive a "bad
request" error. However, if I add default.aspx to the path I can access the
documents within that folder. For example, click on the XYZ folder under
Site S1 and it will link you to
https://sharepoint.abc.com/Documentation/Site1/XYZ where I receive a "bad
request" error, add default.aspx to the end:
https://sharepoint.abc.com/Documenta...Z/default.aspx and I can
now see all of their documentation. Any suggestions on how to remedy this
would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Not able to access SharePoint portal after applying SSL
One reason for default.aspx working but without it not working is that
you have not setup Alternate Access Mappings (AAM)
(Central Admin / Operations and the link is on the top right)
In this case you probably need to set default to http://servername and
Internet to https://sharepoint.abc.com
The httpS might have something to do with your problems so if the above
doesn't work, try reading the paper on AAM here

Re: Not able to access SharePoint portal after applying SSL
when you initially created the web app did you specify 443 as the port?
