This is a discussion on Select People and Groups dialog not showing all Security Groups - Sharepoint ; I am trying to create audiences with a rule of "member of" but some of the security groups are not showing up, they are all in the same domain, but in a different OU. Any suggestions?...
I am trying to create audiences with a rule of "member of" but some of the
security groups are not showing up, they are all in the same domain, but in a

Any suggestions?

Some further information, when in the portal, I can search and find any group
within the domain no problem, but when trying to do the same search when
creating a rule in the audiences, it doesn't show anything, and even if I
manually type it in, it won't allow it.

Hi, I have a similar issue. Have you had any luck?

None, and I've posted this in a few other areas as well and no luck. In one
post someone replied that it might be fixed in SP1, but I recently applied it
and nothing.
Basically from what I've dug into and put in some other posts, the
GroupMember table is not being updated after the initial install.
Why MS decided to use 2 seperate implementations for the people picker is
beyond me one for the portal and one for wss. I'm sure there was a reason ;-)
I'll probably end up burning a support ticket on this in order to get it
resolved. Once I do I'll post it.

Hi Millerwa,
I've got the same problem as well. Just created a new security group and I
can't get the audiences people picker to see the security group, but I can
add the security group to the portal site and grant access to users using it.

In fact, I've now found a solution.
I couldn't see the group when creating an audience, but could on the portal.
So I added the group to the portal site and gave it Contribute access and
then I logged onto the portal using an account that was in the security
group. I was then able to find the security group and add it to the
audience....
Argh... These small problems are what really annoy me about SharePoint.
