Which licenses are needed to setup moss 2007?

This is a discussion on Which licenses are needed to setup moss 2007? within the Sharepoint forums in Microsoft Tools category; For example we are going to setup a single moss 2007 for 200 users, do we need to buy: 1. Sharepoint server 2007 + 200 CAL 2. SQL Server 2005 (standard) + 200 CAL, or SQL Server + Proc LIC Is there anything like if I buy moss + cal than it comes with SQL server licenses or must I buy them separately? What else do I need to buy?...

I do not see a way around it. But here are some things I would look at.

Do you already have a SQL server with the licensing you need?

If you need to buy SQL with 200 user the possessor Lic is the way to go.

Do you really need MOSS? Or would WSS do everything you need?

There's the additional point that he doesn't say which MOSS version and
which CALs.

If it's MOSS Standard he'll need 200 Standard CALs.
If it's MOSS Enterprise he'll need 200 Standard CALS AND 200 Enterprise
CALs.

P.S. Original poster: General is for questions that don't fit anywhere
else. So if you post to General post ONLY to General.
