Though I have very little experience on QTP, but irrespective of the
tool IMO this is a good case for automation. If your tool can identify
various objects present in the report, if you can read the data
present in the report using your tool, you should certainly consider
automating this. You should try to create one generic script to check
report format. Also, how do you verify these reports manually? Do you
know the logic on which these reports were generated or you compare it
with known good reports? In both the cases, you can include the same
logic in your automation script as well.
