Hi all, I'm developing device driver and using lauterbach to dowload image file to = evaluation board. One bad day, while I was downloading and Trace 32 notified: "emualtion debu= g port fail" at the line "sys.up". I investigated and knew that there are 3 reasons may cause this error: - wrong CPU - wrong clock - wrong JTAG pin but those reason can not happen because I was using this board as usual. Is there any one faced this error? could you please give me advices for thi= s error. Thanks,

Hi, I have had this problem before, usually Trace32 and the board have lost com= munication. There are a few possibilities to try. Restart Trace32 and reset (power off / on) your target hardware. Take the system up and down on the Trace32 menu Reset the board, and software connect Trace32 Also have a look at the Lauterbach web site Hope this helps Mark Symbian

Hi There are few more possible reasons for this problem - when the multicore parameters are not correct - when power source to CPU is not adequate e.g. battery not charged enough = Or power adapter is not giving required power. I had this problem for of all the above reasons but following reason was ve= ry interesting.. I mistakenly connected the JTAG dongle to the side of Lauterbach box (podbu= s in/out port) and powered it on but later realised my mistake and place th= e JTAG cable back to the correct port even though I was getting "emulation = debug port failed" error.=20 If nothing of this works then try with another lautebach box and/or JTAG ca= ble. At times there are very misterious reasons for this failure that only = Lauterbach knows. Hope this helps NV Symbian
