Email synchronisation with Netscape?

  1. Default Email synchronisation with Netscape?

    Hi!

This question has undoubtedly been discussed in this newsgroup, but I
did not find any article on it: Does there exist software that allows to
synchronise mail between a Psion (Revo) and Netscape? I know PsiWin
supports it for Outlook, but I was hoping to be able to continue using
Netscape and get this feature. Any hints will be appreciated!

    Thanx!

    Jan,

Unfortunately EPOC Connect doesn't include synchronisation for=20
Netscape. I don't actually know of any other software that does.

Jan, Netscape stores its mail in concatenated RFC822 format ("UNIX
mailbox"). This is conpatible with (for example) Eudora Pro 3.x (Sorry -
don't know about v4 of that product). Netscape makes use of
table-of-content files, as does Eudora, although these are not
compatible with Eudora, nor are they needed - provided that you compact
your mail folders before transferring. (i.e. rewrite them, removing the
deleted entries - mail is marked as deleted in the table-of-contents; of
course, without the toc, there's no way of knowing, so your dead mail
    will reappear).

So, if there's a converter for Eudora, you might want to try that. Take
a backup first! I'm unsure if there are synchronisation tools for
Eudora, but a transfer should be possible.
