| Hi all, I would need to know the exact OMA SyncML DS versions supported by Symbian = 9.2/ UIQ 3.2 (or above),=20 I know that it is compatible with version 1.2, but I would need to understa= nd the backward compatibility with lower version (1.1.x), Is Symbian 9.2/ UIQ 3.2 compatible with OMA DS version 1.1.x? If yes, can it simultaneously support versions 1.2 and lower? could someone help about this? thanks in advance for your support best regards |

| Hi, thanks for you reply, but I would need one more clarification: is Symbian OS v9.2 compatible also= with OMA Data Sync verisons lower than 1.2 (for instance v1.1)? if yes, can Symbian OS v.2 support symultaneously OMA Data Sync v1.2 and v1= ..1? ...or is it necessary to switch OMA DS v1.2 OFF and v1.1 ON in the devi= ce software? thanks in advance I would appreciate very much if you could help my with this best regards |

| Hi No an OMA DS v1.2 Client will not work with an OMA DS Server that is v1.1. = The idea is that it is easier for the Server to support multiple versions = of the protocol than the Client (due to memory/ROM restraints), and so for = this reason the phone will only support one version of the protocol. | Hi Matt, thanks for your reply, I would have a last question, this is the scenario I have: - server supports *only* OMA DS v1.1.x (and not OMA DS v1.2)=20 - client is Symbian v9.2=20 if Symbian 9.2 client has the ability to support OMA DS v1.1.x too (as I fo= und here [http://www.symbian.com/developer/tec...c_source/refe= rence/reference-cpp/SYNCMLCLIENT/TSmlProtocolVersionEnum.html#%3a%3aTSmlPro= tocolVersion]) and if it isn't able to support the two verisions simultaneo= usly (as you said below and as I was able to verify),=20 do you think it's possible to act in some ways in client software to make i= t work with server (for instance switching OMA DS 1.2 off and OMA DS 1.1 on= )? thanks best regards |

| Hi The methods in the SyncML APIs that use the TSmlProtocolVersion enumerated = type haven't been implemented, if you try to use these they Leave with KErr= NotSupported. To my knowledge it is not possible to switch the client from= supporting DS v1.2 to v1.1, you will need to change the DS Server instead. I believe that the Funambol one does support DS v1.2, it definately support= s DM v1.2 and v1.1. See their website: www.funambol.com Matt Edited by: MElliott257 on 23-Jan-2008 15:10 |
