Fake Network Traffic Programs

This is a discussion on Fake Network Traffic Programs within the Theory forums in Theory and Concepts category; Hey folks. This subjects proves a challenge to my knowledge of IP addresses. If someone runs a fake network traffic program on a computer - would it be "easy" to detect based on Host ids? where a network no matter how big will share a host id? If not - and the fake traffic creates genuine fake ip address, would it then be possible to "download" from a fake ip? I would say no only because it creates a false return address. If MySpace can't figure it out then what hope do I have? Thanks, Tom J....

Default Fake Network Traffic Programs

Hey folks.

This subjects proves a challenge to my knowledge of IP addresses. If
someone runs a fake network traffic program on a computer - would it
be "easy" to detect based on Host ids? where a network no matter how
big will share a host id?

If not - and the fake traffic creates genuine fake ip address, would
it then be possible to "download" from a fake ip? I would say no only
because it creates a false return address.

If MySpace can't figure it out then what hope do I have?

Thanks,
Tom J.
