| I have a nested group (using AD). Say Group A (Distribution group) is the main group. Group AB (Security Group) , Group AC (Security Group) are subgroups. so i grant read access for a site area to group A. I expect any user under Group A or AB or AC could see this site area. But they can't. Then i grant read access for the same site area to Group AB. now, user under group AB can see it. Why i can't grant read access to Group A for the site area? Can anyone please help? Anything wrong? |

| Found out that the same case happen to Menu Component, where i need to assign each subgroup instead of just the main group. No one encounter this problem before? |

| Portal 6.0.1.1 . By default isn't the nested group support is enabled? where can i check this? btw, If the nested group is not supported, i wouldn't be able to see the content item if i were to grant read access to group A for the content item right? the situation is, i just need to grant read access to Group A for the content item, but for site area, need to grant for specific nested group. Another problem is, for Menu component, it's reversed. I need to grant read access to Group A for the menu component, but for content item, specific nested group. this is getting more and more confusing. |

If the property "accessControlDataManagement.enableNestedGroup s" doesn't exist or is set to "true", then nested group support is enabled from a Portal access control perspective. -Brett Gordon (WebSphere Portal L2 Support) IBM Certified System Administrator -- WebSphere Portal V6.0, V5.1, V5.0 IBM Certified Solution Developer -- WebSphere Portal V5.1, v6.0 The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent the positions, strategies, or opinions of IBM. |
