Multi-locale support related question

This is a discussion on Multi-locale support related question within the Websphere forums in Application Servers & Tools category; Hi, I am using WPS 6.0.1. I have to support currently existing English site in Spanish also. When user selects Spanish option then I am supposed to show the entire site (all pages) in Spanish. Can someone point me to "TODO" list for doing following things 1. Produce a Spanish side navigation 2. Produce a Spanish top navigation bar (with sub menu) 3. Produce all the page contents in Spanish. (I am using struts portlet) I have read some articles in this regard, but different approaches has confused me. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/we...ang/huang.html http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/we...01_patil2.html Thanks & Regards, Chinmay...

well if you use the change language command, then for the navigation top and side should all pull the correct titles for the pages.

Now for the portlets you just need to use a resource bundle option(like jstl tags) and use that to pull your content

What is the best way to deal with text in Themes?

Also, if I set some locale for a user in WPS profile(say Arabic), and say I have resource bundle supporting that language(Arabic) with that portlet. Will WPS pick up the arabic resources itself or I will still need to set locale to Arabic and pick up the appropriate resource bundle?

And I read on some article that WPS provides you translation facility also. Like for my portlets it will translate the text and show on the page as per set locale. Unfortunately I lost the link of that article and couldnt find it again. But is there any such facility or I have to provide the translated text in resource bundles?

Thanks & Regards,
Chinmay

in themes, jstl

yes it will pick it up from the user

well there is the translation server, but other wise it is all via resource bundles
