Can't play this content because it may not be supported ERROR on 360

  1. Default Can't play this content because it may not be supported ERROR on 360

    Folks,

I've been pulling my hair out over this one. I have a Vista Home
Premium PC set up for streaming to my 360 through my wireless router
(Billion BIPAC 7300G). PC is wired into router, and Xbox connects
    wirelessly (802.11b).

If I use Media Centre on the 360 I never have a problem palying any
files. I'd like to be able to just jump straight into the dashboard
and watch the videos as it's alot easier to teach my girlfriend how.
When trying to launch a media file from the dashboard I intermittantly
get a "Can't play this content because it may not be supported" error
that suggests that I head to microsoft's Xbox support page for more
info (only I can't find any). Some days the media file launches
flawlessly, others the same file will refuse to play. Heck, sometimes
I'll be streaming a video, the video will finish and when I try to
play a different file I'll get this error. If I then try and go back
to the file that was playing fine only minutes earlier that one will
    refuse to play too.

I've done all the network checks I can on the xbox end and I never
have less than a full signal, and all the network and PC checks run
fine. Also, I've tried ensureing that there are no other wireless
devices connected (or trying to connect) to the network and this
    problem still seems to happen.

Has anyone else seen this and have a few tips to get this more stable?

    Cheers!

    OK ... Where do I begin ...

The first and formost thin I need to know is .... How hot is yer GF?

OK sorry I have no real answer for you. I just had to comment
My only suggestion is to try to connect it via hard wire and see what
happens - make sure its not a wifi issue. (well I guess that could be
    considered a real answer)

But back to the GF ..

    JiM
